Praying With Your Lifegroup Using The Lord’s Prayer
Purpose: This tool helps Lifegroup leaders guide their groups through focused, meaningful prayer meetings using the structure of the Lord's Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13).
Corporate prayer meetings are key for developing personal prayer lives in group members because they serve as a discipleship time for prayer. When done as a consistent rhythm of community like the early church, it will create an atmosphere for God to move powerfully in and through your group.
Praying together as a Lifegroup can turn a regular group of people into a focused, fruit-bearing, love-filled, unified team. Use this pattern to lead your group through comprehensive prayer that covers worship, personal needs, relationships, and spiritual warfare.
"Our Father, who art in heaven..." Recognizes our relationship with Him
Recall His father-heart for you and for those for whom you pray (1 John 3:1)

Recall the covenant names of God and their meaning and application for today
Meditate on these names and what they mean for your group
Spend time blessing and honoring His holy name:
He is our banner
Our righteousness
Our provider
Our healer
Our peace
Our sanctifier
Our shepherd

Trust God for practical needs (jobs, finances, health, etc.)
"And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors..." Confession and Forgiveness
Ask the Holy Spirit to search you and point out areas where repentance is needed
Forgive those against whom you are holding grudges (Proverbs 4:23; Matthew 5:44)
Confess sins to one another where appropriate
Pray for grace to forgive others as Christ has forgiven you
"And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil..." Protection and Spiritual Warfare
Know the Truth of the Word of God, and use it against the devil (1 Timothy 6:12; Ephesians 6)
Pray for protection from temptation for each group member
Ask for deliverance from evil influences in your community
Put on the full armor of God together as a group
"For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever." End with Praise!
Conclude your prayer time by declaring God's sovereignty
Give Him glory for who He is and what He has done
