The Lord is….

Abundant- Psalm 36:8 They feast on the abundance of your house; you give them drink from your river of delights.

Awesome - Deuteronomy 7:21 Do not be terrified by them, for the Lord your God, who is among you, is a great and awesome God.

All-powerful - 1 Timothy 6.15-16 God, the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords, 16 who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see. To him be honor and might forever. Amen.

Accessible- Hebrews 4.14-16: 14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. 16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Attentive- Psalm 139.1-8 You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. 2 You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. 3 You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. 4 Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely. 5 You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me. 6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.

Advocate- 1 John 2:1 My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.

Abba- Romans 8.15 The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.”

Alpha & Omega- Revelation 1.8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”

Active - John 5.17 In his defense Jesus said to them, “My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I too am working.”

Beautiful- Psalm 27.4 One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.

Bread of Life- John 6.35 Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty."

Better- Psalm 84.10 Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked.

Blessed- 1 Timothy 1.11 that conforms to the gospel concerning the glory of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me.

Blessor- Genesis 5.2 He created them male and female and blessed them.

Builder- Hebrews 11.10 For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God.

Bountiful- Deuteronomy 28.12 The Lord will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands.

Burden Bearer- 1 Peter 5.7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Bridegroom- John 3.29 The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him, and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom’s voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete.

Christ- John 1.17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

Close- Psalm 75.1 We praise you, God, we praise you, for your Name is near; people tell of your wonderful deeds.

Compassionate- Psalm 86.15 But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.

Caring- Psalm 8.4 what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?

Covenant Maker- Genesis 17.2 Then I will make my covenant between me and you and will greatly increase your numbers.”

Covenant Keeper- Deuteronomy 7.9 Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.

Counselor- Isaiah 9.6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Comforter- 1 Corinthians 1.3-4 3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.

Commanding- Philippians 2.9-11 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Dependable- Psalm 33.4 For the word of the Lord is right and true; he is faithful in all he does.

Delightful- Psalm 37.4 Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Deliverer- Psalm 18.2 The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

Door- John 14.6 6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Defender- Psalm 68.5 A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.

Desire of the Nations- Haggai 2.7 7 I will shake all nations, and what is desired by all nations will come, and I will fill this house with glory,’ says the Lord Almighty.

Distinguished- Psalm 86.8 Among the gods there is none like you, Lord; no deeds can compare with yours.

Everlasting- Psalm 90.2 Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the whole world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.

Encouraging- Psalm 3.3 But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high.

Enduring- 1 Chronicles 16.34 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.

Effective- Isaiah 55.10-11 As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, 11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

Forgiving- Psalm 130.4 But with you there is forgiveness, so that we can, with reverence, serve you.

Father- Ephesians 6.23 Peace to the brothers and sisters, and love with faith from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Friend- John 15.5 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.

Faithful- Hebrews 3.6 But Christ is faithful as the Son over God’s house. And we are his house, if indeed we hold firmly to our confidence and the hope in which we glory.

Feared- Psalm 19.9 The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever.

Fulfilling- Psalm 145.19 He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them.

Fountain of Life- Psalm 36.9 For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.

Good- Psalm 23.6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Great- 1 Chronicles 29.11 Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, Lord, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all.

Gentle- Matthew 11.29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Giving- Psalm 29.11 The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace.

Generous- Titus 3.5-7 5 he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.

Gracious- Psalm 86.15 But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.

Guardian- Psalm 97.10 Let those who love the Lord hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.

Guide- Psalm 23. The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, 3 he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.

Glorious- 1 Chronicles 29.13 Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name.

Helper- Hebrews 13.6 So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?”

Healer- Psalm 30.2 Lord my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me.

Honored- Revelation 30.4 “You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.”

Honest- Numbers 23.19 God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?

Holy- Revelation 4.8 Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under its wings. Day and night they never stop saying: “‘Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty,’ who was, and is, and is to come.”

Hiding Place- Psalm 91.1-2 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

Happy- Hebrews 1.9 You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.”

Humble- Matthew 11.29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Instructor- Psalm 25.8 Good and upright is the Lord; therefore he instructs sinners in his ways.

Intentional- Jeremiah 29.11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Immortal- 1 Timothy 1.17 Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Incomparable- 1 Timothy 6.16 who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see. To him be honor and might forever. Amen.

Just- Psalm 33.5 The Lord loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love.

Judge- Genesis 18.25 Will not the Judge of all the earth do right?”

Jehovah Jireh- My Provider

Jehovah Rophe- My Healer

King- Psalm 24.7-8 Lift up your heads, you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.

Kind- Titus 3.4-5 4 But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, 5 he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy.

Light- James 1.17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

Leader- John 10.3 The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.

Lover- Exodus 15.13 In your unfailing love you will lead the people you have redeemed. In your strength you will guide them to your holy dwelling.

Lifter- Psalm 40.1-3 I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. 2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. 3 He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God.

Mighty- Psalm 50.1 The Mighty One, God, the Lord, speaks and summons the earth from the rising of the sun to where it sets.

Maker- Psalm 95.6 Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker;

Merciful- Luke 6.36 Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.

Mediator- 1 Timothy 2.5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus...

Near- Psalm 73.28 But as for me, it is good to be near God. I have made the Sovereign Lord my refuge; I will tell of all your deeds.

Nurturing- Isaiah 49.15 “Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you!"

Noticing- Genesis 16.13 She gave this name to the Lord who spoke to her: “You are the God who sees me,” for she said, “I have now seen the One who sees me.”

Omniscient- Romans 11.33-36 Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out! 34 “Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor?” 35 “Who has ever given to God, that God should repay them?" 36 For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.

Omnipotent- Revelation 4.11 “You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.”

Omnipresent- Psalm 139.7-11 Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? 8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. 9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, 10 even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. 11 If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,” 12 even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.

Omnibenevolence- Psalm 145.9 The Lord is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made.

Protector- Psalm 18.35 You make your saving help my shield, and your right hand sustains me; your help has made me great.

Peacemaker- Colossians 1.19-20 19 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

Pure- Hebrews 7.26 Such a high priest truly meets our need—one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens.

Potter- Isaiah 64.8 Yet you, Lord, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.

Planner- Jeremiah 29.11 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Priest- Hebrews 3.1 Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, whom we acknowledge as our apostle and high priest.

Priceless- 1 Peter 1.18-20 18 For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. 20 He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake.

Propitiation- 1 John 2.2 2 He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.

Quiets- Zephaniah 3.17 The LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.

Redeemer- Psalm 19.14 May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.

Royal- Psalm 29.10 The Lord sits enthroned over the flood; the Lord is enthroned as King forever.

Refuge- Psalm 62.8 Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.

Righteous- Psalm 9.8 He rules the world in righteousness and judges the peoples with equity.

Rock- 1 Samuel 2.2 “There is no one holy like the Lord; there is no one besides you; there is no Rock like our God.

Ruler- Revelation 1.4 and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood...

Resurrection- John 11.25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die;

Rejuvenating- Psalm 104.30 When you send your Spirit, they are created, and you renew the face of the ground.

Remembering- Hebrews 6.10 10 God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.

Reconcilor- Romans 5.10 For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!

Restorer- Acts 3.21 Heaven must receive him until the time comes for God to restore everything, as he promised long ago through his holy prophets.

Savior- Jude 1.25 to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.

Shepherd- Psalm 23.1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.

Shield- Psalm 28.7 The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.

Strength- Isaiah 12.2 Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord himself, is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation.”

Sun- Revelation 21.23 The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp.

Strong Tower- Proverbs 18.10 The name of the Lord is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.

Satisfying- Isaiah 55.2 Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and you will delight in the richest of fare.

Servant- John 13.14 Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet.

Supplier- Philippians 4.19 And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.

Teacher- John 3.2 He came to Jesus at night and said, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him.”

Trustworthy- Psalm 145.13 Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures through all generations. The Lord is trustworthy in all he promises and faithful in all he does.

Truth- John 14.6 6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Unique- Psalm 86.8 Among the gods there is none like you, Lord; no deeds can compare with yours.

Upholding- Isaiah 41.10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Upright- Psalm 25.8 Good and upright is the Lord; therefore he instructs sinners in his ways.

Uncreated- John 1-2 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made

Unchanging- Hebrews 13.8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

Vindicator- Psalm 135.14 For the Lord will vindicate his people and have compassion on his servants.

Victorious- Psalm 20.6 Now this I know: The Lord gives victory to his anointed. He answers him from his heavenly sanctuary with the victorious power of his right hand.

Vine- John 15.1 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.

Wise- Isaiah 28.29 All this also comes from the Lord Almighty, whose plan is wonderful, whose wisdom is magnificent.

Wonderful- Psalm 107.31 Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind.

Way- John 14.6 6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Yahweh- Exodus 3.14 God said to Moses, “I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I am has sent me to you.’”

Zealous- 2 Kings 19.31 “The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this.
